I Spy!

As part of Book Week students could take part in an I Spy! competition.  They needed to make a page with a picture and clues about what could be spotted in the picture.  This is based off the I Spy! series of books that the students enjoy.

Click on the pictures to make them larger, and so you can play I Spy!

Te Tuhi Art Workshop

Last week Room 20 visited Te Tuhi Art Centre.  We were very lucky to participate in an Art Workshop "Stories from the Pacific".

We learnt about Pacific Tapa. We learnt how they are made, what symbols are used on them in different Pacific nations and the importance of them in the lives of Pacific people.

Room 20 students needed to think of symbols to use in their art that represented their culture, interests, family and special place. These were used on their own tapa.

It was a great learning experience, especially learning about cultures that are in our community.
